The Perth Folk and Roots Club seeks to:
1) Encourage folk and roots musicians to perform;
2) Organise events featuring folk and roots musicians for the community;
3) Obtain sponsorship or other payment for remuneration of folk and roots musicians to perform at events;
4) Support organisers of events featuring folk and roots musicians; and
5) Support increased awareness of folk and roots music by the community.
The Perth Folk and Roots Club originated in 2012 and has been organising folk and roots music for audiences since. In 2014 Perth Folk and Roots Club was incorporated as a not for profit organisation to encourage performances and appreciation of folk and roots music. The Committee of Perth Folk and Roots Club are experienced members of the local music community with national and international links to artists such as ARIA winner Dave Graney, Neil Murray, Kavisha Mazella, Rick Steele, Steve Tallis, Kerriane Cox, Peggy Van Zalm, Ken Nicholl (UK Steeleye Span) and Katey Brooks (UK) as well as links to government and corporate supporters of folk and roots music.
